Long Melford Circular Walks are a series of walks created by villagers for the benefit of local residents and visitors. Each walk is designed to show the beauty of the village and its surroundings. 1. The Mill walk
A 2½ mile walk leaving the village past Melford Hall and Holy Trinity Church before turning west for splendid views across the Stour valley.
2. The Woolpatch walk
A short 1½ mile walk along Chad Brook and the River Stour in the west, before returning to the centre of the village.
3. The Black Lion Walk
A 3½ mile leaving Melford Country Park northwards along the old LNER railway line before turning west to follow the St. Edmunds way and the Stour Valley path.
4. The Nethergate walk
A 5 mile walk from Melford Country park following the old LNER railway line to Bull lane before returning via Cuckoo Tye to the east of the village.
5. The Hare walk
A 7 mile walk leaving the village walking northeast wards past Melford Hall and Holy Trinity Church to Bridge Street before turning west to return the village and passing Kentwell Hall.
